Oracy is the ability to articulate ideas, develop understanding and engage with others through spoken language.

In Year 5, we recognise that oracy skills are crucial to a child’s success both in school and in their life beyond. Our aim is to ensure every pupil leaves our school as an effective communicator, who is confident in using their voice in a wide range of situations that include ‘the art of conversation’.

We use card games such as Uno, Snap and Rummy, to give the children the opportunity to develop these skills in positive and fun ways.
