British Science Week Assemblies with Dr Geary
This week we were visited by Dr Geary from UTC who hosted our British Science Week assemblies. He discussed with the children the important skills needed to become a scientist and how big questions can lead to scientific discoveries!
The children experienced the wow factor when a balloon was pierced but didn't pop, water 'disappeared' in front of everyone's eyes, and the children had an in-depth exploration in to how everyday alkalines and acids react when combined.
The children demonstrated many of the school values, including supporting Dr Geary with his resilience as a scientist - an invaluable skill required during any investigation.
